A to Z Challenge: L is for Little Buddha

Movie: Little Buddha (1995)

Overall Rating: 2.5 / 5

General Impression: Take it or leave it.

World's slowest movie ever.

Or at least, it's one of the slowest movies of this year's A to Z Challenge.

I know it's a movie that was released 20 years ago and the criteria of what constituted a critically acclaimed movie was different then, but wow, it was hard to stay awake to. It didn't help that a lot of the colours in the movie were really subdued and dark when it really wasn't meant to be a dark movie.

On the plus, it was a great telling of the story of Siddhartha and the movie combined the two story lines in a really pretty way. And I'm sure it was the most authentic look into Buddhism that North America has ever had in media. At the very least it was educational I guess.
